15. Non-Alcohol Beer

Non-Alcohol Beers are a wide range of color and appearance depending on underlying style. Hop aroma, flavor and bitterness may vary with underlying style. Malt aroma and flavor also vary depending on underlying style. Non-alcohol (N/A) beers can emulate the character of any beer style defined within this guideline but without alcohol (less than 0.8% abw or 1.0% abv). Due to their nature, non-alcohol beers will have a profile lacking the complexity and balance of flavors that beers containing alcohol will display. N/A beers should be assessed with this in mind, and should not be given negative evaluations for reasons related to the absence of alcohol. Body is bariable with underlying style.
To allow for accurate judging the brewer must provide additional information about the entry including the bee style of underlying base beer. When the base beer does not conform to any existing style in this guideline, brewer may indicate "out of existing style". Beer entries not accompanied by this information will be at a disadvantage during judging.
