51-A. German-Style Doppelbock

German Doppelbocks are copper to dark brown. Appearance should be clear. Chill haze is not acceptable. Fruity esters are commonly present at low to moderate levels. Hop aroma should not be present. Hop flavor and bitterness are low. Dominant malt aromas are of toasted malted barley. Some caramel and toffee character can contribute to complexity in a secondary role. Malty sweetness is pronounced but should not be cloying. There should be no astringency from roasted malts. Alcoholic strength is high. Diacetyl should not be present. Body is full.

51-A．ジャーマンスタイル・ドッペルボック

　ジャーマン・ドッペルボックの色合いは、カッパー（銅色）からダーク・ブラウンの範囲。外観はクリアで、冷温白濁は許されない。フルーティーなエステルはドッペルボックに一般的に見られるが、ローから穏やかなレベルに抑えること。ホップのアロマはまったく感じられない。ホップのフレーバーと苦味はロー・レベル。トースト香を伴うモルトのアロマが支配的である。カラメルやタフィーキャンデーのキャラクターを伴っていれば、より複雑で深みのある味わいをもたらす。モルティな甘味が支配的であるが、すぐに飲み飽きるようなしつこさがあってはならない。ローストモルト由来の渋味があってはならない。アルコール度数が高い。ダイアセチルがあってはならない。ボディはフル。

51-B. German-Style Eisbock

German Eisbocks are light brown to black. Appearance should be clear. Chill haze is not acceptable. Alcoholic strength is very high and may be present in aroma. Fruity esters may be evident, but not overpowering. Hop aroma and flavor should not be presnt. Hop bitterness is very low to low. Sweet malt character is very high. This is a stronger version of Doppelbock. Traditionally, these beers were created by freezing a Doppelbock and removing the ice, thus concentrating the alcohol. Diacetyl should not be present. Body is very full.

51-B．ジャーマンスタイル・アイスボック

　ジャーマン・アイスボックの色合いは、ライト・ブラウンからブラックの範囲。外観はクリアで、冷温白濁は許されない。アルコール度数が非常に高く、アルコールの香りが感じられてもよい。フルーティーなエステルがはっきりと感じられてもよいが、過剰であってはならない。ホップのアロマとフレーバーはまったく感じられない。ホップの苦味は非常にローからロー・レベル。モルト由来の甘味は非常にハイ・レベル。このビールはドッペルボックのストロング・バージョンである。伝統的にこのビアスタイルは、ドッペルボックを凍らせた後、氷を除去してアルコール度数を高めてつくられる。ダイアセチルがあってはならない。ボディは非常にフル。
