121. Tax-Saving "Happoushu"

Tax-Saving "Happoushu" must be brewed with a limited amount of malts (less than 25% for all ingredients except water). Any color is acceptable. Appearance is clear to cloudy depending on intentions of brewer. Fruity esters are not present to high. Hop aroma, flavor and bitterness are variable depending on intentions of brewer. Malt aroma and flavor are also variable depending on intentions of brewer. "Happoushu" can be fermented with ale or lager yeast. Alcoholic strength should be less than 7.9% by weight (10.0% by volume). Unmalted barley/wheat, barley syrup, rice, corn, corn syrup, or starch can be used as adjuncts. The overall balance is an important factor in assessing this style. Body is light to full. Beers brewed with herbs, spices, fruits, or vegetables are not included in this style but are appropriate to enter as Herb and Spice Beer, Fruit Beer or Field Beer.
To allow for accurate judging the brewer must provide additional information about the entry including brewer's intention about overall characters, yeast used (ale, lager, other), alcohol content, adjuncts used, and malt's ratio among total grists. Beer entries not accompanied by this information will be at a disadvantage during judging.

121. 節税型発泡酒

　節税型発泡酒は、水以外の原料に占めるモルトの比率を25%以下に落として醸造したビールである。色合いに規定はない。外観はクリアでも濁っていてもよい。フルーティーなエステルは、ゼロからハイ・レベルまで。ホップのアロマ、フレーバーおよび苦味のレベルは、ブルワーの意図によって異なる。モルトのアロマ・フレーバーのレベルも、ブルワーの考えに基づく。ラガーかエールかを問わない。アルコール度数は10.0%未満に限る。副原料として、麦芽にしない大麦／小麦、バーレイシロップ、米、コーン／コーンシロップ、デンプンなどを使うことができる。このスタイルの評価にあたっては、全体のバランスが重要なボイントになる。ボディはライトからフルの範囲。ハーブ、スパイス、フルーツ、または野菜類を用いてつくった発泡酒はこのスタイルではなく、ハーブおよびスパイスビール、フルーツビール、またはフィールドビールに該当する。
　このスタイルに出品するビールは、ブルワーが意図したフレーバーの特徴、使用した酵母(エール、ラガー、その他)、アルコール度数、使用した副原料名、および麦芽比率を明示することが求められる。これらについての情報が添付されていないビールは、審査の際に不利となる場合がある。
