82. English-Style India Pale Ale

English IPAs are gold to copper colored. Chill haze is acceptable. Fruity esters are medium to high. Hop aroma and flavor are medium to high, expressed as floral, herbal, earthy, stone fruit or other attributes from high hopping rates. While English hop character should be present, this can result from the skillful use of hops of other origin. Hop bitterness is medium to high. Non-English hops may be used for bitterness. Medium malt flavor is present. Most traditional interpretations are characterized by medium to medium-high alcohol content. The use of water with high mineral content results in a crisp, dry beer, sometimes with subtle and balanced character of sulfur compounds. Diacetyl if evident should be very low. Body is medium.

82. イングリッシュスタイル・インディア・ペールエール

　イングリッシュIPAの色合いは、ゴールドからカッパー（銅色）の範囲。冷温白濁があっても許される。フルーティーなエステルはミディアムからハイ・レベル。ホップのアロマとフレーバーもミディアムからハイで、ホップの割合が高いものはフローラル、ハーバル、アーシー、ストーンフルーツ(プラムやアンズなど)、そのほかのキャラクターを伴っている。英国品種のホップ・キャラクターを特徴とするが、英国以外のホップ品種を上手に用いて同様のキャラクターを得ることも可能である。ホップの苦味はミディアムからハイ。ビタリングには英国品種以外のホップを使ってもよい。モルトのフレーバーはミディアム。ほとんどの伝統的なイングリッシュIPAのアルコール度数はミディアムからミディアム・ハイの範囲にある。ミネラル含有率の高い水を使用する結果、スッキリしたドライな味わいに仕上げられている。ほかのフレーバーとバランスがとれていれば、仕込み水由来の硫黄臭がほのかに感じられてもよい。ダイアセチルが感じられても、非常にロー・レベルなら許される。ボディはミディアム。
