18-A. Other Strong Beer

Other Strong Beers are any color of the underlying beer style. Beers of any style intentionally brewed with higher alcohol content than defined within that style’s guidelines are categorized as Other Strong Beer. Malt aroma and flavor are depending on underlying style. Hop aroma, flavor and bitterness are also variable with underlying style. The goal should be to reach a balance between the style's character and the additional alcohol. Body is medium to full depending on original gravity.
To allow for accurate judging the brewer must provide additional information about the entry including the beer style of underlying base beer and/or appropriately identify the style created ("strong vienna lager" for example). Beer entries not accompanied by this information will be at a disadvantage during judging.

18-A. その他のストロングビール

　その他のストロングビールの色合いはベースにしたビアスタイルに基づく。このガイトラインに記されたいずれかの伝統的なビアスタイルをベースにしながらも、アルコール度数だけがそのスタイルの基準を超えているビールは、こちらのスタイルに分類される。モルトのアロマとフレーバーはベースにしたスタイルに基づく。ホップのアロマとフレーバーおよび苦味もベースにしたビアスタイルに基づく。最も重要な評価ポイントは、ベースにしたビアスタイルに見られる固有のキャラクターが保持されており、かつそのキャラクターと高アルコールがもたらすキャラクターが調和しているかどうかである。ボディは初期比重に応じて、ミディアムからフルの範囲。
　このスタイルに出品するビールは、ベースにしたビアスタイル名またはベースにしたスタイルがわかる言葉（たとえば、「ストロング・ウインナラガー」など）を明示することが求められる。この情報が添付されていないビールは、審査の際に不利となる場合がある。
