74. Classic English-Style Pale Ale

Classic English Pale Ales are gold to copper colored. Chill haze is acceptable. Fruity-ester aromas are medium to high. Hop aroma and flavor are medium to medium-high. Earthy and herbal English-variety hop character is the perceived end, but may be a result of the skillful use of hops of other national origins. Hop bitterness is medium to medium-high. Low to medium malt aroma and flavor are present, and low caramel character is allowable. Very low sulfuric aroma derived from brewing water may be appropriate for this style. Diacetyl if evident should be very low. Body is medium.

74. クラシック・イングリッシュスタイル・ペールエール

　クラシック・イングリッシュ・ペールエールの色合いは、ゴールドからカッパー（銅色）の範囲。冷温白濁があっても許される。フルーティーなエステル香はミディアムからハイ。ホップのアロマとフレーバーは、ミディアムないしミディアム・ハイ。アーシー、ハーバルといった英国品種のホップ・キャラクターを特徴とするが、英国以外のホップ品種を上手に用いて同様のキャラクターを得ることも可能である。ホップの苦味はミディアムないしミディアム・ハイ。モルトのアロマおよびフレーバーはローないしミディアムで、ロー・レベルのカラメル香を伴っていてもよい。仕込み水由来の硫黄臭は、非常にロー・レベルなら、むしろこのスタイルに相応しい。ダイアセチルが感じられても、非常にロー・レベルであれば許される。ボディはミディアム。
