18-E. American-Style Malt Liquor

American Malt Liquors are straw to gold. Chill haze is not acceptable. Fruity-ester and complex alcohol aromas (though not solvent-like) are acceptable at low levels. Diacetyl should not be perceived. Hop aroma and flavor are not perceived. Hop bitterness is very low. Some residual sweetness is perceived. Beers of this style are varied in character. Some malt liquors are only slightly stronger than American lagers, while others approach bock strength. Body is light to medium-light.

18-E. アメリカンスタイル・モルトリカー

　アメリカンスタイル・モルトリカーの色合いは、ストロー(麦わら色)からゴールドの範囲。冷温白濁は許されない。フルーティーなエステル香と多様なフーゼル・アルコールがもたらすアロマは、ロー・レベルであれば認められる（シンナー臭は不可）。ダイアセチルがあってはならない。ホップのアロマとフレーバーは、まったく感じられない。ホップの苦味は非常にロー・レベル。モルト由来の甘味がいくぶん感じられる。このスタイルのキャラクターは、銘柄ごとに違いが見られる。アルコール度数に関しても、アメリカン・ラガーよりも少しだけ高いものもあれば、ボックに並ぶほど高いものも見られる。ボディはライトからミディアム・ライトの範囲。
