18-A. Other Strong Beer

Other Strong Beers are any color of the underlying beer style. Any style of beer can be made stronger than the classic style guidelines. Malt aroma and flavor are depending on underlying style. Hop aroma, flavor and bitterness are also variable with underlying style. The goal should be to reach a balance between the style's character and the additional alcohol. Body is medium to full depending on original gravity.
To allow for accurate judging the brewer absolutely must provide the base ale, lager or experimental style by name or style number that is being created stronger and/or appropriately identify the style created (for example: double alt, triple fest, imperial porter or quadruple Pilsener). Brewer may also provide additional information about the process or ingredients used to create the beer. Beer entries not accompanied by this information will be at a disadvantage during judging.

18-A. 酵母なし、ライトアメリカン・ウィートビール

　その他のストロングビールは、このガイトラインに記されたいずれかの伝統的なビアスタイルをベースにしながらも、アルコール度数だけがそのスタイルの基準を超えているビールを指す。色合いはベースにしたビアスタイルに基づく。モルトのアロマとフレーバー、ホップのアロマとフレーバーおよび苦味も、ベースにしたビアスタイルに基づく。最も重要な評価ポイントは、ベースにしたビアスタイルに見られる固有のキャラクターが保持されており、かつそのキャラクターと高アルコールがもたらすキャラクターが調和しているかどうかである。ボディは初期比重に基づき、ミディアムからフルの範囲。
　このスタイルに出品するビールは、ベースにしたスタイル名を明示するか、もしくはベースにしたスタイルが分かるような言葉（たとえば「ダブル・アルト」「トリプル・オクトーバーフェスト」「クァドルプル・ピルスナー」など）を明示すること。また、醸造工程または使用した原料なども明示すること。これらについての情報が添付されていないビールは、審査の際に不利となる場合がある。
