8. Chili Beer

Chili Beers are any range of color from pale to very dark depending on the underlying style. Clear or hazy beer is acceptable in appearance. Chili Beers are any beers using chili peppers as a flavor. Chili pepper aromas ranging from subtle to intense may or may not be evident. They should not be overpowered by hop aromas, and should be present in harmony with characteristics typical of the underlying beer style. Chili pepper qualities may vary widely as vegetal, spicy or "heat" inducing flavors and/or aromas. Malt sweetness can vary from very low to medium-high levels, depending on the underlying beer style. Hop bitterness is very low to medium-high. For purposes of competition, all beers containing chili peppers should be entered as Chili Beer. Beers which represent more than one style (for example chili beers with chocolate) would be appropriately entered as Chili Beer.
To allow for accurate judging the brewer must list the chili(s) used along with the classic ale, lager or experimental style of base beer, and any other ingredients or processes used. Beer entries not accompanied by this information will be at a disadvantage during judging.

8. チリビール

　チリビールの色合いは、ベースにしたスタイルの色に応じて、ペールから非常にダークまで広範囲にわたる。外観は透明でも濁りがあってもよい。フレーバーとしてチリペッパーを使ったビールがチリビールである。チリペッパーのアロマの強弱は問わないが、ホップのアロマに負けない程度にはっきりとしており、しかもベースにしたビアスタイルの特徴と調和すべきである。チリペッパーの味質は、野菜的な、スパイシーな、あるいは"熱い辛味"など、多様な言葉で表現される。ベースとしたスタイルに基づいて、モルトの甘味は極めて低レベルからミディアム・ハイまで、ホップの苦味についても極めてローからミディアム・ハイまで許される。このコンペティションでは、チリペッパーを含んだビールはチリビールとしてエントリーされるべきであり、チョコレート・チリビールのように、どちらのスタイルに出品すべきか迷うビールはチリビールとして出品されるのが適切である。
　このスタイルに出品するビールは、ベースにしたビアスタイル、使用したチリペッパーの種類、チリペッパー以外に使用した原料があればその名前、それらを使用したプロセスなどを明示することが求められる。これらについての情報が添付されていないビールは、審査の際に不利となる場合がある。
